The Bourne Legacy is the 4'th movie in the Bourne franchise, this time starring Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) instead of the familiar Matt Damon. I can't say if he is better or worse, he is just different than Damon. Although you might see the similarity in the way the film is directed (short and intense action scenes, while trying to create a feeling of "big brother" watches - from 1984 not the reality show!). Tony Gilory, as the director is doing a fair job (as in all the Bourne movies) and aside from the bothersome side-plots of government issues and stuff, the action scenes are quite thrilling and well-made.
The Bourne Legacy takes us back to the pre-Matt Damon days as Jason Bourne and it focuses on another governmental 'project' of super-soldiers that went wrong (they just can't control their man can they?!). In our case, one of these super-soldiers, Aaron Cross (Renner) comes across the understanding that he is soon to be terminated and he decides to act upon it, while knowing he can't hold up against the government, he decides to run while fighting his way out of the whole business.
All and all, The Bourne Legacy is a decent thriller with fine action scenes, but I personally am tired with all the government-conspiracy theme, it's got a little old I think, better come up with something new next time.

The Bourne Legacy gets ★★1/2 on The Awesome Scale.
